As Coronavirus continues to spread, the Ministry of Education announced on their Twitter that all schools and universities across the UAE will shut down for four weeks starting Sunday March 8 as part of an effort to contain the spread of the virus.Â

This news obviously comes as a shock to many students (and lecturers) because exams are set to start in the coming weeks, followed by spring break afterwards. But unfortunately, all teaching and learning plans have been put on hold for the foreseeable future. In the Tweet, the ministry added that the decision is in the interest of students to provide the maximum standards of safety in the schools.

What will happen is kids and teachers will all fly to exotic locations and bring the virus back with them

For some schools, some exams and tests will be carried out online, E-learning will also be introduced to students during the break, so it’s not all fun and games for the next four weeks.Â
Don’t forget to sanitize your hands and keep them off your face!!
