The Oscars were quite the hoot and while the event was great, the nominees did not go home empty-handed regardless of whether or not they won an Oscar. And turns out, the gift bags given out were valued at $225,000 (Dhs825,000), um. Let that sink in.
The bag was filled with a variety of luxury products including a $250 (Dhs918) meditation headband, concierge vitamin therapy, a 24-karat vape pen, sleep tracker headbands, free personal training, and liposuction sessions for ‘celebrity arms.’ Oscar nominees also received a year’s supply of the cult-favourite brand Oxygenetix Oxygenating Foundation (which are around Dhs500 fyi) and a makeup bag because where else will you store all that foundation?
“We did want the bags to feel like they had a bigger purpose than just, ‘here’s a bag full of free stuff,’” said Lash Fary, the marketing firm’s founder, to Fortune. “All of the bags that we’ve been doing have been from female-owned businesses, Black-owned businesses, disabled entrepreneurs, and companies who give back—even ones that you wouldn’t necessarily think give back.”
Oscar nominees were also given a three-night stay at the exclusive 152-year-old Pater Noster Lighthouse in Sweden. But that’s not all, they were also gifted a four-night stay for two at Golden Door spa and 10 personal training sessions.
Wow, I always low-key wanted to be invited but now I *highkey* want to catch an invite next year.
