Living in this new digital age (aka the 21st century) comes with many, many different perks. Although we’ve not yet got flying cars *sigh*, we do have YouTube, Google and of course, Netflix. But there’s one digital platform that has grown phenomenally within the past few years, and that’s podcasts. Yep, as much as we love a beauty YouTube video or two (read: Cosmo’s Beauty Lab), there’s nothing quite like discovering an amazing new podcast (and then staying up to the early hours listening to every single episode).

Within the podcast realm, there are a lot of different genres to choose from – there’s true crime, comedy and even relationships, but my favourite has to be beauty – though, maybe I’m biased, who knows.

Of course, with the internet being the black hole it is, you may find it difficult to scout out said beauty podcasts, however, fear not, for I have rounded up seven favourites (which really are the best of the best). Whether you’re looking for product recommendations from the industry’s most well-known experts, or are interested in hearing about their career paths, there’s something for everyone in the below list.

Beauty obsessives, you’re welcome…

Outspoken Beauty by Nicola Bonn

Radio broadcaster, Nicola Bonn, has created one of our all time favourite podcasts.

With a mixture of fascinating guests, from industry experts to beauty influencers and even celebrities, this podcast looks at beauty from all sides. You can expect career anecdotes from some of the industry’s finest, brilliant product recommendations and tips, plus, a whole host of wider debates around beauty issues such as ageism, diversity, mental health and more.

British Beauty Council Career Insights

Like many other career paths, there are a lot of different avenues you can go down when it comes to working in beauty. In this podcast, the British Beauty Council speak to some of the most coveted beauty experts in the UK, to find out how they’ve got to where they are today. Whether you aspire to be a nail tech, makeup artist or even a beauty journalist (like me!), there’s an episode in this series for all.

Beauty maven, journalist and editor Funmi Fetto, hosts ‘On Reflection Beauty’ – a podcast about the culture of beauty. The 25-episode-long series dissects and discusses current beauty news, provides some of the best product recommendations, and explores the wider conversations in the beauty that run the gamut from fatphobia to racism. It really is good enough to binge!

Breaking Beauty

Co-creators and hosts, Carlene Higgins and Jill Dunn are two longtime beauty editors who know what they’re talking about. In previous episodes, the experts have spoken to Makeup By Mario (Kim Kardashian’s MUA) on the one drugstore product he can’t live without, discussed how to build a gimmick-free skincare routine and even chatted with our favourite beauty TikToker, Mikayla Nogueira, about hormonal acne heroes.

Beauty from the Heart

podcasts

Hosted by makeup artist, Rose Gallagher, ‘Beauty from the Heart’ is a podcast encouraging warm, meaningful conversations with some of the most inspiring people in the beauty industry. Guests include, Vieve founder Jamie Genevieve, world-renowned MUA Val Garland and our very own Cosmo beauty alum, Laura Capon.

Fat Mascara

If like me, you’re a podcast lover, this is the one for you. Beauty journalists Jessica Matlin and Jennifer Sullivan churn out two (yes two!) episodes a week, so you’re never going beauty hungry. On Tuesday episodes, the pair share their insider access to the beauty industry as well as candid stories of their beauty adventures and product recommendations galore. On Friday episodes, they interview their favourite industry experts, including celebrities, perfumers, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and more.
