Wisdom tooth extractions are a never-ending source of hilarious viral videos. No parent, sibling or bestie in existence can resist the urge to press record when their loved one emerges from surgery totally tripping on heavy pain medication.

In most cases, patients’ psychedelic reactions are initially witnessed only by the people closest to them — say, Mom as she chauffeurs the patient home. But sometimes the post-surgical antics are a little more … public.

Take Abby Jo Hemele, for example. While recovering from her wisdom tooth extraction this month, the University of Nebraska student suddenly became determined to secure an extension on her philosophy paper. So under heavy influence of hydrocodone, she composed an email to her TA, Kevin Patton — and actually pressed send.

The message Kevin received deserves a special place in the Natural Museum of Academically Embarrassing Yourself.

There are just so many gems in this email. For starters, Abby Jo calls Kevin “my dude.” Then she claims she won’t be “normal” again until she eats some Thanksgiving turkey. For good measure, she throws in the phonetic spelling of her last name in case he was wondering (he wasn’t). But her earnest promise to end awkward class silences by answering all his questions was by far the most hilarious part. Wait, no — the “love you” is even funnier. This email just gets better and better.

Abby clearly has a sense of humor about the whole thing because she shared the message on Twitter. The question is, did Kevin? Did he fail her, or report her for trying to bribe him with Expo markers?

Check out his response and see for yourself:

LOL. Kevin is clearly the coolest TA ever!
