1. Suggest Thai. Before he zeros in on a venue for the first date, suggest somewhere with spicy food. Dishes with a kick, such as those with curry or hot peppers, increase blood flow – as he heats up, he’ll associate the rush from the food with spending time with you, so date number two is practically a given.
2. Cut Things Short. Coffee, a movie, dinner, then a walk to that chic little ice cream place? All on one date? What will you do for an encore? Sometimes, less is more, so save something for next time. Try suggesting over your espresso: “Let’s make this a really long date. How about dessert — on Tuesday?”
3. Challenge Him. And we don’t mean getting ready to go to war with him, but not being a pushover and having your own opinions is oh, so, sexy. So if he checks his phone during date number one, call him out on it – in a joking way. Showing you can hold your own around him is so refreshing he’s bound to want to keep you around.
4. Let Him Pay. And then offer to “get the next one.” Not only does it plant the idea of date number two in his head but opens up the subject of the when and where.
5. Shake On it. At the end of your first date, thank him for a great night, shake his hand and give him a peck on the cheek – and nothing more. He’ll be dreaming of the “what ifs” – we guarantee it.
