Last year, the ‘Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033’, launched to position the city among the top ten global gaming cities and aims for gaming to contribute $1 billion to the country’s GDP (gross domestic product) by 2033.
“The main goal of the UAE in the coming years should be to create a gaming culture. It is necessary to work with the generation that will be able to build a professional career in eSports starting from 2030,” Anton Vasilienko, co-founder and CEO at True Gamers told Arabian Business.
It’s not just Dubai that loves gaming, Saudi Arabia is set to take the gaming world to new heights after unveiling that it is hosting the first-ever Esports World Cup in the summer of 2024.
Spearheaded by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, this monumental event promises to revolutionize the esports landscape.
