Do you ever get easily distracted when working or studying at home? Going to a café might be just the thing you need with a good mix of comfort and productive energy. My friends and I used to go to some of these cafes to discuss projects, finish essays and even just meet up for a coffee. Freelancers also enjoy a good cup of coffee and some yummy food while they hustle. So, if you have that deadline coming up and have nowhere to get your work done, try one of these cafes…you will not be disappointed.
1. Marks and Spencer’s Café
I had a chat with Clare Geeves, a Dubai-based PR professional who loves to work at cafes in Dubai. Marks and Spencer’s was at the top of her list. “It has affordable, good-quality coffee compared to other cafes. If you bring your reusable cup, they discount the price of the coffee because they’re all about being sustainable. Can you imagine a great latte just for Dhs12?” I think that’s amazing value. She added, “I go to the one in the Marina. The Wi-Fi is fast and the staff are super friendly. If I don’t want the café food, the M&S market offers good food too so I can pick something up from there and eat it at the café which is a big plus.”
2. Krave
Clare loves the branch in Motor city. “The place is light, bright and airy with great Wi-Fi.” She mentioned that is a healthy food concept restaurant and is affordable. Everything has a calorie counter on it to help you keep track of what you are eating. Clare added that her favourite dishes are the avocado toast and pancakes. “There is no extra sugar or butter used and it still tastes AMAZING.” I need to try this place myself!
3. A4 Space
Located in Alserkal Avenue the cafe is designed to give you optimum comfort while working by yourself or with a team. You can either bring in your own food and drink or you can grab something from the café. The café is two floors and has tables and chairs, sofas and comfy cushions at your disposal. It even has a chalk board for everyone to use! The coffee is delicious and the Wi-Fi is super-fast which I appreciate.
4. Roseleaf Café
This café is super cute and definitely insta-worthy. It’s in the Dubai Garden Center on Sheikh Zayed Road. Roseleaf has really delicious food as well as amazing coffee that is pretty affordable. The Wi-Fi is great and the place is fairly quiet and calm. The café extends to a pretty glass-house where you can sit and work as well so, you’re surrounded by all the beautiful flowers as well. It’s a great place for sweet tooth’s because the make some amazing desserts.
5. Costa Coffee
I know, they have a lot of branches around the U.A.E, but, my fave when I want to get my work done is at the branch in JLT, Cluster C. It is a quiet, cozy café with fast Wi-Fi. Costa Coffee has delicious café food and heavenly coffee that gives you the fuel to work at your optimum level. The pricing is on a par with other coffee companies so it may not be the cheapest option but it is the best if you really need a quiet space to concentrate, like for that essay you’ve been procrastinating about.
6. Urban Bistro
Urban Bistro is located in Media City and is a great place to get your work done. They have really tasty food, good coffee and you guessed it…Fast Wi-Fi. The prices are affordable and the café has the view of a lake in the middle of the Dubai concrete jungle which just makes this place more unique and peaceful. A big plus point is as the weather is cooling down, there is an outdoor deck where you can get in some fresh air while you finish that project. It’s quiet during the weekdays but can get pretty busy on the weekends!
Hope these cafes help you stay productive. If you needed a sign to start that project, this is it. Get to it!
