The region’s love of plant-based food is showing no signs of slowing down, so we give thanks to Comptoir 102 – Dubai’s very own chic and Parisian healthy café.

We headed down to the Instagrammable spot – located in the heart of old Jumeira – to put the indepedent venue’s claim that it is one of the best concept stores in the city to the test. The space has been conceived as a home – featuring an outdoor lounge, garden and terrace area – and is totally picture perfect. Think soft pink furnishings, fairy lights and potted plants. 

The philosophy behind the café is to offer a more conscious and healthy lifestyle by bringing sustainable and nutritious food to DXB locals. I kicked off proceedings with a toasted organic bagel with blanched kale, cucumber and homemade vegan cream cheese, and I ordered this with a side of vegan nut cheeses, obviously. This plate came complete with fig paste, almond nuts and homemade bread. Uh-mazing. 

The menu also boasts mixed berry smoothies, fresh juices and organic coffee, and once your tastebuds have been satisfied, you can mooch a couple of metres to Comtpoir’s fashion, homeware, jewellery and beauty store (disclaimer: prepare to part with your dirhams).  

Make no mistake, Comptoir 102 is truly a hidden treasure for super-cool shoppers and health-conscious eaters. Long may the eclectic bohemian oasis’ reign in Dubai continue.
