We’re still trying to decide whether we’re team Jeremiah or Conrad, hoping that the answers will be revealed in season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty, part of which is releasing today and the remaining, throughout the month.
Although we’ve secured a second season, we’re *very* greedy for more, especially when it comes to such masterful adaptions of Jenny Han’s literary masterpieces. The coming-of-age series’ stunning soundtrack, ethereal visuals, and multidimensional characters simply have us wanting more.

So, will there be a third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty?
For some context, the beloved show is a romantic self-discovery journey which follows the story of Belly Conklin who visits her family friends’ house at Cousins Beach every summer. But something ~shifts~ as the summers progress, and Belly finds herself caught in a love triangle between two of her friends who are also brothers, Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher.

Obviously, revealing Belly’s man of choice during the season one finale would go against the ~suspenseful nature~ of The Summer I Turned Pretty. But we can rest knowing that all our questions will be answered in a second season which is releasing on Prime Video today. Fans have already fallen in love with season 2 prior to its official release, envisioning what the love triangle’s fate would be to the melodious tunes of August by Taylor Swift.

Thankfully, there’s *already* been some speculation regarding the release of The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s third season. So, what’s the truth? Is the show getting renewed for a third season, in congruence with Jenny Han’s trilogy, or is it coming to an end?
In a perfect world, the third season would be based on Jenny Han’s third book We’ll Always Have Summer whose synopsis explores Belly’s *final choice* between Jeremiah and Conrad. But we suspect that this approach is simplistic and that, should there be a third season, the series will shake things up in a way we cannot expect.

Alas, nothing is perfect, even on a show like this. There has been quite a bit of indignation felt by writers and actors in Hollywood, leading to a pause in the (yet to be confirmed) production of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3. And obviously… without writers, there can be no show.
For now, we cannot say for sure whether or not a third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty is in store. After all, the writers are the ones we’re counting on to bring life to Jenny Han’s masterpieces in ways that are best suited for the screen.
But we must not lose hope. In Jenny’s words, “It’s the imperfections that make things beautiful.” For now, we’re grateful that there’s at least a second season, and we cannot wait to see what the love triangle’s fate will be.
