Even if Greek mythology wasn’t your favourite subject in school, chances are you’ve heard of Odysseus’ epic journey home – a story loved and admired by many. Now, fans all around the world are counting down the days to see Nolan’s interpretation of the classic and immerse themselves in his cinematic world.
The Odyssey also earns the title of the first ever commercial movie that has been filmed entirely using 70mm IMAX cameras, which means this movie will pull you even more (we love an immersive screening more than anyone else).
The trailer which was released earlier this year highlighted complicated relationships, greed, resilience, and a long journey filled with monsters, impossible choices, and heartbreak.

The much-awaited movie is all set to hit the theatres on July 17th with some cinemas offering earlier screenings on July 16th, 2026. What do we know about the movie’s world premiere?
The Odyssey’s world premiere was held at ODEON luxe Leicester Square in London on July 6th. The lead stars joined Christopher Nolan on the big day, all looking fabulous. However, the women did take it away this time with stunning looks from custom Schiaparelli to classic Dior. Reviews have already set in with some calling the Odyssey as ‘the movie of the year’.
