Squid Game season 2 was released in the UAE one week ago on 26th December 2024 and the hype is REAL. Have we binged it? Duh.
Netflix Korea accidentally leaked the release date of season 3 in a video description on Youtube, before making the video private.
At the end of the 7th and final episode of season 2, we were told that the third and final season would be coming in 2025. Here’s everything we know so far.
What is the final season about?
The game isn’t over yet and we have SO many questions. If season 2 gave away any hints, season 3 is going to be much darker and complex.
Season 2 left us on a cliffhanger, where Player 456 aka Seong Gi-Hun vowed to end the violent games.Â
In case you switched off as soon as the credits started rolling, there was a mid-credits scene in season 2 which offered a sneak peek into the storyline of Season 3. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has encouraged fans to watch the scene again for clues, as it builds up a picture for the final chapter.
Netflix posted this teaser image on Instagram yesterday with the caption “Young-Hee & Chul-Su” referring to the dolls we saw during the end-credits scene.
Who from the season 2 cast is returning for this season?
The main character Seong Gi-Hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, will return for Squid Game season 3.
We’ll probably also see some fresh characters but the trailer for season 3 hasn’t dropped yet.
When will season 3 be released?
According to many sources, Netflix Korea might have let slip the release date for season 3 by mistake. Rumours are that it will be on our screens in late summer 2025, with the video description suggesting 27th June 2025.
Whilst the release date hasn’t been confirmed, Netflix have announced that this will indeed be the final of the South-Korean hit series.
