Chronicling the life of everyone’s favourite doll Barbie, the film will tell the story of the titular toy and her companion Ken as they discover the ups and downs of the real world when they leave Barbieland.

With A-listers Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling leading the way, performers Will Ferrell Michael Cera, America Ferrera, Emma Mackey, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Dua Lipa, and Ritu Arya are some of the *big* names in this star-studded cast.

Apart from the totally awesome premise, one thing a lot of fans of the doll as well as of this exciting filmmaker have been looking forward to is seeing her craft a new coming-of-age story to fall in love with, this time, at a much bigger scale than ever before.

Greta has worked with actors Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet in the past. The two have played important roles in Lady Bird and Little Women. After a lot of debate and anticipation, we finally have an answer to the question.

Will Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet have cameos in Barbie?

Unfortunately for us, no, Greta’s favourite duo will not be in Barbie. What makes this whole situation worse is that they were supposed to have cameo roles in the director’s third film.

As per Variety, Saoirse spoke out last September about trying to film a cameo in the movie. More recently, Greta told CinemaBlend that she had to get rid of the actress’ cameo.

“Well, it was always going to have to be like a sort of smaller thing because she was actually producing at the time, which I am so proud of her for,” Greta shared.

She continued, “And of course, it’s brilliant. But it was going to be a specialty cameo. I was also going to do a specialty cameo with Timmy. Both of them couldn’t do it and I was so annoyed. But I love them so much. But it felt like doing something without my children. I mean, I’m not their mom, but I sort of feel like their mom.” 🥹🥹🥹
