Is it just me, or is 2026 literally the best year for K-Drama releases? I mean, come on, we’re talking about the fact that there are ample shows and movies upcoming, AND the fact that they’re all good plots?
If you’re anything like us (suckers for a good trailer, summary, and cast), you’d be well aware that we don’t just blindly recommend things for the sake of it.
From your favourite stars linking up for some upcoming romance to the completed dramas we’d personally watch for a fourth time, scroll below for the best K-Dramas to watch in 2026. P.S. They’re all completed.
Perfect Crown
Byeon Wook Seok is back, and this time, he’s a prince (cue heart eyes). And his leading lady? None other than the queen IU! This series is set in a modern-day constitutional monarchy. Think the Joseon era, but in 2026. It follows the lives of the nation’s beloved Grand Prince I-AN and the wealthy, but disdained, conglomerate heir of commoner status, Huiju. With both facing threats of their own kind, the two enter a contractual marriage that mutually benefits each other. The result? A whiplash of tension, suspense, comedy, and a lot, and I mean a lot of romance – just the kind we like to see.

Spring Fever
We love a small-town romance, and so should you. Spring Fever is for the girls and boys who love the grumpy x sunshine trope. This time, An Bo-yun, who plays Seon Jae Gyu, plays a rough-but-actually-a-sofite local from Shinsu-eup, alongside Lee Joo Bin as Yoon Bom, a vibrant teacher who went through an unfortunate scandal affecting her teaching career. The endgame? A man full of charm meets an ice princess and links up for an unlikely romance. Scars are healed, and hearts are full.

No Tail To Tell

Her main goal this time is to accumulate her wealth after realising becoming human wasn’t worth it. So, she chooses to indulge in the world’s pleasures. Her perfect and long life, however, gets disrupted with the appearance of a narcissistic soccer star player Kang Si Yeol, played by none other than Lomon. We Are All Trying Here
Imagine being the only one in your friend group without a successful career. Sounds depressing, and jealousy is bound to creep in. That’s exactly what Hwang Dong-Man, played by Koo Kyo-Hwan, will be going through at the upcoming K-Drama, We Are All Trying Here. Part of an infamous group of film directors dubbed as “The Eight”, Dong-Man does his level-headed best not to feel, well, worthless as the only one in the group yet to make his directorial debut. With jealousy fueling every character, the series explores how they each find their own peace.

Yumi’s Cells 3
Yumi’s Cells is back for its third iteration – and we can’t wait. With Kim Go-Eun reprising her role as the titular character, this season follows her life as she navigates her mid-30s. Now an award-winning romance novelist, she begins to notice that her days have become a little too monotonous despite all the wins. That is, until her life takes a turn with the appearance of Soon-Rok, her editor and her namja-chingu (boyfriend, if you will). Let’s just say with Soon-Rok in the picture, her animated village of “cells” is riding the romance wave after a phase of, well, bland.

Still Shining
Perhaps slow-burning and angst are your thing? Don’t worry, it’s ours too. Our two favourite K-Pop idols, Park Jin-Young and Kim Min-Ju, have officially linked as teen exes (yep, it’s that type of plot) who reunite 10 years later as adults. What problem do they face? Caught up in their own personal struggles while also preparing for college entrance examinations, they graduated and went their separate ways to chase their dreams. But, as fate would have it, the universe aligned and brought them back together a decade later – leaving them to decide if they can finally pursue the romance they’d once longed for. Or perhaps, if it’s time to move on.

Sold Out On You
Oh, Ahn Hyo-Seop, the man you are. He’s back on his grind, but this time as Matthew Lee, a young farmer nicknamed…Quail. But stick with me, this K-Drama is it. Set to be a healing comedy, the series follows the lives of Quail, a man who wears many hats (he’s a CEO with multiple jobs – talk about hustle), and Dam Ye-Jin, a home shopping host with a flawless sales streak. But for some reason, they always cross paths – and it’s not always the most friendly encounters. As days pass, a connection starts to form. From Quail’s hidden burdens to Ye-Jin’s insomnia, they slowly help each other confront their personal struggles and heal their wounds, and maybe – just maybe – find a chance at love despite all the chaos.
