Ok, we know the term ‘iconic’ often gets bandied about in the same sentence as Kim Kardashian, but this time we really mean it.

The KKW Beauty founder wore a cream ruffled gown, made up of hundreds of layers of silk organza, to the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, but the look was so much more than just another vintage dress.

Kim was wearing Alexander McQueen’s famed “Oyster dress” from his spring/summer 2003 collection. There were only two creations of this dress ever made: one sits in the gallery of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) and the other now belongs to Kim – a Christmas gift from husband Kayne.

“Kayne actually got me this for Christmas,” Kim told Vanity Fair at the Oscars afterparty.

The gown was displayed at London’s V&A and the MET’s Savage Beauty exhibition. Curator Andrew Bolton called the gown “arguably the most important dress of the 21st century”. (Xanax)
