Not to sound dramatic, but I don’t think I will ever shop the same the way again… This year, Samsung launched its new Galaxy S24 series, complete with brand-new AI functions, including my new fave Circle to Search function with Google.
So what is it, exactly? This is the first and only phone to debut intuitive, gesture-driven technology that lets users highlight and search for objects in a picture by scribbling or circling them. With either your finger or Samsung’s S Pen stylus, You long-press the home button and then circle, highlight, scribble on, or tap any part of an image or video, or any bit of text, and you’ll instantly launch the search.

For instance, if one of your favourite influencers has posted a bomb outfit on Instagram, but hasn’t credited the brands she’s wearing, you can use Circle to Search to not only find out where an item of clothing is from, you can even call up links for buying them, too.
Live translation and Interpreter are two other sick features as part of Samsung’s new AI launches. The former is a live translation tool that can be used in real-time whilst on phone calls, and the latter focused on translating a conversation into just text that’s shown on a split-screen. But Circle to Search is still my Roman Empire of the new Galaxy S24.
So, the next time you’re trawling through the mall and see the chicest off-duty weekend attire, or you’re dying to know where the girl on the table next to you at dinner’s shoes are from, just circle is and ta-da! Happy shopping!
