If you love the crystal blue shores of Ummahat Island and didn’t see headlines about it, well you may have missed the launch of Saudi Arabia’s first, and most especially, historic fashion milestone, the Red Sea Fashion Week (RSFW). But dw, we got you. Here’s a round-up of everything that happened.

ICYDK, the Red Sea Fashion Week is spearheaded by the Saudi Fashion Commission. And they beautifully welcomed the guests from A-list celebrities to influencers at the St. Regis Red Sea Resort. They got to see the bluest of seas and a plethora of absolutely fab collections.

In its inaugural, the Saudi-based fashion week lasted for three days showcasing the most jaw-dropping resort collections, done by none other than an exclusive list of Saudi designers, alongside other Arab fashion brands from around the Middle East. From the regional luxe you love to ready-to-wear and jewellery… let’s just say it was giving level up.

And the Fashion Commission didn’t stop there. Aside from showcasing amazing seven female-owned Arabian brands on the catwalk, they provided a much-needed platform to another set of  21 brands, including the Saudi 100 Brands, Moroccan labels, Egyptian lines and to-die-for Turkish garments at their private showroom.

Promised by the CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission, Burak Cakak, the RSFW will *upgrade* Saudia Arabia to the next level in the fashion world. This means attracting more buyers and fashion fans locally and internationally. A much-needed step for the Saudi market entering the global fashion world.

As the event drew to a close, the CEO mentioned that the Saudi Fashion Commission will continue to reach out to local talents, aiming to empower and showcase their a-game designs through an array of initiatives for the Kingdom’s fashion development. 

“This three-day event at the St. Regis Red Sea Resort has been a cultural exchange connecting local, regional, and international brands in the heart of one of the kingdom’s breathtaking natural landscapes.” He mentions. “Our commitment to economic growth, sustainable development, and the promotion of local talents and creatives on a global scale is unwavering. The Saudi Fashion Commission is dedicated to fostering a dynamic ecosystem where creativity and business acumen flourish.”

And we love the global appeal as said by Burak Cakak. “The enthusiasm of buyers from around the world who have witnessed the diverse resort wear showcased, underscores the global appeal of this newly launched fashion week. Red Sea Fashion Week is instrumental in making Saudi Arabia a beacon of fashion and culture.”
