If you love knitting as a pastime and Lagerfeld’s legacy, then you’re about to love this fashion collaboration.
The Woolmark Company and Karl Lagerfeld have just announced a tribute collaboration to celebrate the late Karl Lagerfeld’s life and legacy: ‘Imagined by Karl, and designed by you.’
The Head of Image and Communications at the fashion house explains that, “as Karl’s first-ever creation was for the Woolmark Prize in 1954, it feels appropriate to celebrate his life with this collaboration with The Woolmark Company.”
This history-filled brand collaboration includes a limited edition DIY box set with Australian Merino wool designs, knitting needles, yarn, personalised pins and instructions for how to knit the pieces imagined by Karl.
You can create four unisex Lagerfeld designs that include a pullover, cap, headband or scarf – so if you have a birthday coming up, this is essentially the coolest handmade gift!
What’s the catch?
The digital scavenger hunt.
Everyone is invited to take part in this little game that the brands have created where you search for a unique code to win yourself one of these exclusive boxes. There are 777 knit kits created – an ode to the iconic designer’s favourite number, and the competition will run from 7 February until 7 March, with the exclusive codes to be entered online.
