The rise of cowboycore as a trend is a direct result of the annoucement of Beyoncé’s new country album, Renaissance Act II. According to JournoResearch, global Google searches for ‘cowboy hat’ skyrocketed by 212.5% following Beyoncé’s Super Bowl commercial, after which she dropped brand new music. Searches for ‘cowboy boots’ and ‘bolo tie’ also soared by 163% and 566%. Yee-haw.
Beyoncé’s recent fashion choices seamlessly mirror her transition to country music, too. As part of the promo for her first country single, TEXAS HOLD ‘EM, she’s been leveling up traditional country-western fashion staples, seemingly ushering what we once called coastal cowgirl aesthetic into a new era.
Cowboy boots and cowboy hats have already played a major part in many fashion trends on TikTok. And a quick scroll on your FYP will show you that much of the world has already entered their country girl era. Cowboycore, it seems, is all about adding a fashion flare to these country staples.
