Girl PowerÂ
In my humble opinion, why wear a white tee when you can rock one with an empowering message splashed across the front? It’s seriously a no brainer. Even better, it allows me to have completely guilt-free shopping, as technically I’m only spending money on causes I believe in…
Okay, that last sentence could be up for debate – but on Friday (March 8) International Women’s Day is happening across the globe, and one of my fave lust-worthy websites Net-a-Porter.com has released a 2nd collection of T-shirts marking the important day.
Some of the crème de la crème of womanswear designers – I’m talking Victoria Beckham, Isabel Marant, Ellery, Rosie Assoulin, Alexa Chung and Perfect Moment – have collaborated with the luxury fashion e-tailer to create amazing tees with punchy logo statements.Â
All proceeds from sales go to non-profit organisation Women for Women International – a charity that provides practical and moral support to female survivors of war. If you ever needed a reason to shop (I didn’t, but thank you), this is it.
The T-shirts are available to buy at Net-a-Porter.com now.Â
Don’t Suffer In SilenceÂ
The other T-shirt label I’m obsessed with is Heart Knoxx. Designer Helen Hope (what a great name) suffered with anxiety and depression (yes, those taboo subjects we do not speak openly enough about) and she eventually realised she was not alone with these feelings.Â
Helen wanted to spread this message, and this is how her line of T-shirts was born.
The founder used social media as an outlet for her feelings, and this opened up a fountain of opportunities for her. She said,
“The support I received was incredibly surprising and knowing I wasn’t alone really helped me bounce back.”
With messages including “Don’t sweat the small stuff”, “Be a warrior not a worrier” and the iconic “I’m fine #MentalHealthIsTrending”, it’s easy to see why HeartKnoxx is so popular, right?Â
Juat as supermodels such as Erin O’Conner and Jodie Kidd, who helped to elevate her brand with their genuine love for the label.Â
The t-shirts are unisex and manufactured using 100% organic sourced cotton. 10% of the sales go towards the Mental Health Foundation.
Launching in Debenhams MOE and RETOLD. Anyone else feeling 100% guilt-free?
