Some of you may not remember the 90s when the original Fila and Kappa tracksuits, the Spice Girls platform shoe that everyone wanted a piece of and logo-emblazoned garms, reigned. But yeah, they were all pretty hot and taking a trip down fashion nostalgia lane has just become THE thing to do. Here’s our list of comeback kids:

1. Buffalo

Brands like Buffalo were a major hit in the late 90s and early 2000s ‘coz The Spice Girls wore them on stage (we’re looking at you Emma (baby spice) and Mel B (scary spice) for those nostalgic moments). Roll forward to 2019 and the buffalo platform trainer has resurfaced and has even had a brand collab with designer Junya Watanabe.

2. Fila

There’s plenty of contenders for our brand-resurgence list, but if we had to pick we would say the biggest hand raise goes to Fila. If you haven’t seen the street-stylers now rocking the Disrupter trainer in a multitude of colourways, then you’ve totally been hiding under a rock. They’re even available on Net-a-porter.com.

3.Kappa

That back-to-back figurine logo instantly recognisable on popper trousers tracksuits which first stood tall in the 90’s, has been making a resurgence with celebrities like Kendal and Kylie Jenner. The street styler set have been mixing the popper tracksuit trousers with luxury brands and have made the tracksuit acceptable despite the hologram.

4. Le Coq du Sportif

Another brand on our radar is Le Coq du Sportif. Their SS19 campaign is all about athleisure street style cred that’s super hot rn. And they’ve also branched out to having ready-to-wear for us girls, too!

5. UGG

This last unexpected player has branched out since launching the much-loved sheepskin gloved boots. UGG was spotted on everyone’s feet in the early 2000s. They went a little quiet and have made a huge comeback with Adwoa Aboah for their 40th Anniverary campaign. On our radar is the new furry slider design, with a tape logo strap that’s comfy, trendy and super wearable!

There’s plenty of other nostalgic style faves we wish would make a comeback. Naf-naf, Kickers, Patrick Cox and all girly girls’ fave Morgan de toi rank pretty high up on our wishlist. What would you like to see remade from your teen days?
