There’s not a single soul on this planet who doesn’t know who Mickey Mouse is. I mean, he’s a Disney classic. And a style icon. Don’t lie to me and say that you didn’t own at least one sweater with the lovable mouse on it *stares*. Well, thanks to Vans, you can now relive those childhood memories, as the brand’s latest capsule collection is inspired by Mickey Mouse.
And, it looks great! I mean, just look at those beauties below.
The Mickey Mouse anniversary collection pays homage to Mickey’s 90th birthday and spans a range of footwear, apparel and accessories. It features 11 designs inspired by a different Mickey Mouse period, dating from his introduction in the 1920s to present day. These include 1940’s Fantasia, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and my personal favourite Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
The collection brilliantly captures the Disney character on classic Vans silhouettes like the Sk8-Hi and Old Skool and the popular checkerboard print. It also features a bold range of colours.
Don’t worry, they didn’t leave out Mickey’s other half and forever sweetheart, Minnie Mouse. The range celebrates the adorable little mouse with her iconic polka dot pattern. Much like the look featured below.
If you’re not a fan of the bright and colourful aesthetic, you can still rock the collection by sporting some of the brand’s much more minimalistic pieces which are equally great. Wondering how to style the collection?
- Pair the checkerboard clip-ons with a black tee and boyfriend jeans for a casual look.
- For more of a girly look, pair the red Authentic Core slip-ons with a bright red top (or even the Polka dot Sweatshirt from the same collection) and a cute little skirt.
- The pastel Old Skool kicks would look great with a plain tee and denim jeans. The block coloured minimal Vans go with just about everything, especially when combined with a pair of joggers.
