Noor Stars has entered a new era. This one is a however, is not written in posts or videos, but rather in scent, memory, and soul. Her debut fragrance line, Nafas, aligns with her house of creativity, resilience, and ambition. In this intimate conversation, Noor reveals how her personal evolution has shaped the perfumes that are defining her next cosmic-sized imprint.

Cosmo ME: What moment in your life made you realise scent was the next chapter in your evolution from creator to entrepreneur?

Noor Stars: I’ve always had a deep passion for scents because perfume is tied to memory. A scent can pull you back into an exact moment in your life, and nothing else has that power. I’ve always wanted to be part of people’s memories, to create fragrances that become core moments for them.

That’s why I insisted on creating scents from scratch, experimenting with combinations people didn’t expect until we perfected my first three fragrances, Oud, Jasmin, and Vanilla. I wanted to launch with three because everyone has different taste and I never want to limit people to one option.

Cosmo ME: How long did it take you from idea to creation?

Noor Stars: The idea existed for years, but the real action started a little over two years ago. People think creating a brand takes a few months, but there’s no such thing. Every step, like registering a trademark, finalising a name, designing packaging, perfecting formulas, takes at least a month or more.

I’m a fiery, fast-moving person, but creating a brand taught me patience. I had moments where I lost patience completely, but waiting for the right moment to launch was worth it. Even now, there are things we’ll keep perfecting, but I’m proud of what Nafas is today.

Cosmo ME: How do the fragrances you created capture who you are today versus the girl your audience met a decade ago?

Noor Stars: Each fragrance is a version of me. Jasmin reflects my childhood in Syria. Damascus is known for its jasmine scent, and that memory stayed with me. Vanilla represents my teenage years, sweet but with an edge, powerful yet balanced. It’s the perfect scent for big moments, like your wedding day.

Oud is the strong, bold side of me. It says, “Don’t touch me, don’t talk to me. My perfume speaks for me.” Together, these scents reflect every chapter of my journey and every layer of who I am today.

Cosmo ME: Did building your fragrance line require a new version of you creatively, professionally, or personally?

Noor Stars: Absolutely. Nafas added an entirely new layer to who I am. I gained so much knowledge about the business side of the beauty industry such as how things work behind the scenes, how decisions are made, and how to lead in big, often male-dominated meetings.

I learned how to say no and how to make people follow my vision. Everyone has ideas, but I have the vision, and I’ve learned to trust that. This journey taught me so much.

Cosmo ME: Did you think it would be easier than it was?

Noor Stars: Much, much easier. It’s so much harder than people imagine.

Cosmo ME: What does stepping into the beauty industry mean to you as a young Arab woman carving her own path?

Noor Stars: For me, it’s less about what it means personally and more about inspiring others. I come from a very difficult background. If I can make it, you can make it too. Hard work is the key to success. I hope I can be the reason young women from similar backgrounds dream bigger and believe in themselves. I want them to feel like they can achieve anything.

Cosmo ME: How do you see these perfumes shaping your next era, personally, professionally, and as a role model?

Noor Stars: Nafas is more than perfume. It has its own identity and its own message. It’s about believing in yourself, following your dreams, and being a good person. For my audience, I want Nafas to be part of their memories and their big moments. I also want it to be my legacy. We are forgotten after we leave this world, unless we leave something behind. I want people to remember me through Nafas, long after I’m gone.

Cosmo ME: What does the name Nafas mean?

Noor Stars: Nafas means a deep breath, and it also means soul. My idea is that every soul will experience Nafas one day. Even the design reflects this as the logo starts with an N and ends with an S, holding my initials while representing something deeper and spiritual. I want Nafas to carry that meaning for everyone who wears it.
