Let’s face it here in the UAE, Talia Fawaz is known as a bold and unapologetic voice.

Talia has become a favourite among young women across the region for her quick comebacks and sassy responses have led to her now stepping into a new spotlight as Sunsilk Arabia’s official Hair Police (her witty commentary has become a highlight of Arab’s Got Talent).

Here, as Cosmo ME’s January digital cover star, she shares her love for hair experimentation, her favourite hacks, and how she uses her platform to inspire creativity and confidence.

Cosmo ME: Your humour and confidence are such a big part of your brand. How do you strike the perfect balance between being fun and staying authentic with your followers?

Talia: Honestly, I just say what I feel. I’ve always believed that the best way to connect with people is by being yourself. If something’s funny to me, I’ll say it. If I’m having a tough day, I don’t sugarcoat it. I think my followers appreciate that. Whether I’m joking about a hairstyle that didn’t go as planned or hyping up a new look, I stay true to my personality. The humour makes it fun, but the honesty keeps it real. Plus, being the Sunsilk Hair Police has given me the perfect outlet to mix my sass with empowering advice—because hair should always be fun!

Cosmo ME: Social media can be tough, especially when you’re in the spotlight. How do you deal with the pressure to always look perfect or stay on top of trends?

Talia: Perfect? Me? Let’s be real—I’m the queen of hopping on socials looking like absolute garbage some days, and I own it! That’s what makes me relatable. My audience connects with me because I’m not afraid to show up messy, tired, or experimenting with a style.

Dress – Moschino

Cosmo ME: If you had to sum up your social media vibe in one sentence, what would it be?

Talia: Funny and relatable—oh, and a little unpredictable.

Cosmo ME: How does it feel to be officially crowned Sunsilk’s “Hair Police,” and what’s your verdict on the hairstyles we’ve been seeing? Any major violations we need to know about?

Talia: I love it—it’s such a fun title, and it totally fits me. As the Hair Police, I get to call it like I see it while encouraging people to be playful with their looks. Do I see violations? Not really. Not every hairstyle is my cup of tea, but if it makes you feel confident, that’s all that matters. And the cool part is that Sunsilk’s leave on creams make it so easy to try out new looks, so you’re never stuck in one style. I always say, if you don’t love it, you can fix it.

Cosmo ME: You’re known for your playful sass—how do you balance throwing those witty critiques with empowering people to be bold and experiment with their looks?

Talia: Oh, I’m never mean—that’s not my style. My sass is all in good fun. If I don’t love a hairstyle, I’ll say so, but in a way that makes people laugh instead of feel bad. I think that’s why people trust me. At the end of the day, I want my followers to feel empowered to try new things without worrying about what anyone thinks. Hair is supposed to be fun, not stressful!

Cosmo ME: What’s your secret to keeping your hair healthy while experimenting with it so much?

Talia: A few things: Sunsilk’s leave on creams are my lifesaver, especially when I’m styling my hair a lot. They help keep it nourished and under control, even after back-to-back looks. I also take my vitamins, eat well, and make sure to give my hair some downtime to breathe. It’s all about balance.

Cosmo ME: So many of your followers look to you for inspiration. What’s one easy hair routine or hack you’d recommend for people who don’t have a lot of time?

Talia: If you’re short on time, here’s my go-to: take a little Sunsilk leave on cream, smooth it over your hair, and either twist it into a sleek bun or do a half-up pony. It takes two minutes but looks polished every time. You can also play around with sections—twist a few pieces for a little wave or braid overnight for no-heat curls.

@taliaafawaz Guess who’s back on #ArabsGotTalent with @Sunsilk , ready to be your hair police again? 🙋‍♀️ I know, I know… I’m sorry ( not really)! 🙂‍↕️ Need your help though what should my next hairdo be? Cosmo ME: If you could create a “starter pack” for someone new to experimenting with their hair, what would it include?

Easy! A good shampoo, conditioner and leave on cream (obviously Sunsilk), a claw clip, a few scrunches, and a great paddle brush. You don’t need a ton of tools to get creative, but these basics…
