ICYMI, everyone’s favourite it-couple, Sherin Amara and Osama Marwah, have finally revealed the story we’ve all been waiting for.

Recently, the couple appeared on the ONAIRAlo podcast to explain why they decided to keep their relationship under wraps.

Since 2023, fans have been monitoring the pair’s hidden (or so they thought) interactions.

So, while their surprise engagement reveal last year was, well, a surprise, fans still couldn’t help but wonder why they kept the secret for so long.

Talking to Karol Yammine, they mentioned how hard it was to hide from their fans: “Since we are both famous with our own channels and fans, we wanted to keep things private, but it was hard,” Sherin admitted.

When asked why they decided to do so, Sherin said, “Because this is our life. And I feel like it’s our privacy.”

Sherin further mentioned that she didn’t want to regret anything early on. “I mean, God forbid, if we had announced our relationship without an engagement or anything official, and then something happened, in the end, I would regret it, and he would too.”

Understanding that both stars would rather maintain their relationship in a healthy way than performative, they mentioned they strictly follow the saying, ‘Keep your affairs private until they are finalised.’

Of course, like actual green flags, they didn’t want to jump to the next phase in their lives without making sure they weren’t making a mistake.

“First, we wanted to finalise everything properly before we announced anything about ourselves,” Sherin stated.

Osama also mentioned that they didn’t want mixed-up opinions: “Temptations always try to creep in from every direction, you know? The bigger the story gets, and the more opinions come in, sometimes someone close—family or whoever—can unintentionally stir things up,” he said.

He added, “It doesn’t necessarily ruin everything, but it complicates things.”

While the pair unanimously agreed that hiding their relationship from their fans was difficult, Osama declared that because their families were close and aware of their love, “it made things easier, which helped a lot.”

Never settling for just being two famous people on social media, they wanted to use their platform in a more positive light: “Before announcing it to the world, we also wanted to set an example, a positive way of handling this sensitive phase in life. So, if you’re planning an engagement or marriage, this approach might be a good one. “Hopefully, it helps reduce issues, ” Osama advised.
