There’s just something about the Maldives that keeps the UAE coming back. The reason? It’s simply the way luxury feels different there.
Now, the dream getaway is getting a serious fashion moment. Dubai-based designer Selma Benomar has teamed up with JOALI Maldives, the islands’ first and only art-immersive resort, for a capsule collection.
Called Threads of Paradise, it’s the resort wear drop we’ve been waiting for.
Expect floaty caftans, soft lavender tailoring, statement two-pieces, coral-inspired embroidery, and prints that echo the Maldivian landscape. It’s made up of pieces you pack for a once-in-a-lifetime trip, and end up wanting to wear forever.
Each of the eleven looks tells its own story. Aqua Essence dives deep into marine magic. Tropical Paradise is bold, joyful, and bursting with colour. Sandy Elegance keeps things soft and chic, with neutral tones and lace textures that whisper luxury.
“Selma’s work expresses a strong sense of place and emotion through design, which resonates deeply with our philosophy at JOALI Maldives,” said Duygu Tatar, Senior Cluster Director of Marketing & Communications. “Threads of Paradise offers our guests more than just fashion. It is a wearable memory of their time with us, crafted with intention, beauty, and meaning.”
Selma Benomar added, “It’s a new creative journey for me, one that reflects the strength and elegance of the women I design for, and carries the same sense of beauty and serenity I felt whilst creating at JOALI Maldives.”
The collection is now live, exclusively at JOALI Maldives and Maison Selma Benomar in Dubai.
