The UAE has always been extremely progressive and it looks like they’re poised to beat the flag bearer of the liberalism, the US, when it comes to eliminating the gender pay gap. The Equal Pay Act will, as per Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai), provide equal compensation for both men and women. He released a statement on twitter confirming this on April 10: “There are no exceptions in providing equal opportunities between the sexes”.

And there’s beeen no time wasted in making Sheikh Mohammed’s words a reality. According to a report , it was announced that the UAE has endorsed a bill that will ensure equal pay for both genders: A huge step toward UAE‘s aim to become amongst the world’s top countries embracing gender equality by 2021.
Other countries that have eliminated the gender gap include Iceland, the UK, Finland, Norway and France, amongst others. A new world is coming and we likee!
