Meghan Markle just pulled off her *second* secret trip to the U.S. ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry on May 19. Last time it was LA to visit her mom and friends, this time she went to Chicago for a much more practical reason — to finalise her visa application for a U.K. visa.
TMZ reports that Meghan arrived at the VFS Global UK Visa Application Centre on Thursday wearing dark sunglasses and a White Sox hat to try to avoid unwanted attention (clever!). She was only in the office for ten minutes. The Chicago Tribune said she'll be staying in the U.S. until Sunday night.
To stay in the U.K. with Prince Harry forever (a personal dream of every girl in America), Meghan has to obtain her citizenship and also pass a test on all things British. She'll have to answer questions like "What is the capital city of the United Kingdom?" which is pretty obvious, and "When do British people celebrate Boxing Day?" There are some harder questions, too, like "Which of Henry VIII's wives was executed at the Tower of London?" Meghan went to Northwestern University, so she's probably really good at taking tests.
TMZ reported that Meghan spent about Dhs5,509 ($1,500) for premium processing on her application and most likely applied for a family visa. With this visa she'll have to marry someone within six months of arriving in the U.K. Her wedding to Prince Harry is about a month away, so this should be no problem, not like anyone's counting down the days!
