Fashion Week is when us muggles look to the catwalks to inspire a new season of getting dressed. And among all of the autumn/winter trends that we need to try and get our heads around for 2016, is one particular jewellery trend that, to be frank, isn't making much sense right now.
Because the thing is, earrings tend to come in pairs, which is usually because you have two ears. Leaving the house with just one earring in seems to us a bit like leaving the house wearing just one shoe. People will look at you and ask if you need help finding the other one. And it will be awkward.
It all started on the runway, with brands like Roksanda Ilincic, Versus Versace and Tibi flying the flag for one earring dressing.
And then, while we were scoffing into our cups of tea that we would eat our hats before we see women out and about with just one gold hoop in... we saw it happen on the streets.
The infiltration of the one-earring-trend had made its way onto the pavements at Fashion Week and that, my friends, means it won't be long until it comes to a bus stop near you.
So look after yourself people, it's a brave new world.
