What is turmeric?
Turmeric is a bright yellow-orange coloured spice popular in Indian cooking that comes in powder and root form. The spice has been around for ages but recently it's becoming more popular than Kylie's lip kit and is being used by celebs and top chefs around the world, not to mention the fact that Google rates it as one of the most searched subjects to date.
What makes it so amazing?
Everything. It's anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant and acts as a powerful antibiotic that can heal us inside and out. Dr. Kelly Brogan, a Manhattan-based women’s health psychiatrist and author of the New York Times Bestselling book A Mind Of Your Own that addresses depression, also speaks about the miraculous healing benefits of turmeric and how it fights off depression.
We women know how hectic things can get if our hormones are out of whack (no sleep, crying for no reason). The good news? Turmeric can actually help balance our hormones. Nutritionist, hormone expert and best-selling author of Woman Code, Alisa Vitti, drinks a turmeric latte everyday.
