SOLE DXB's Musical Performances Were Lit This Year

Sole DXB, Dubai’s fashion and cultural festivial, was back for the sixth time this year to Dubai Design District, d3, for a three-day event to remember. In addition to the cultural talks, fashion exhibitions and displays from a range of massive sportsewear brands, there were a host of musical performances that brought the soul to Sole DXB.

20-year-old soul singer and rising star H.E.R, whose fans include R’n’B singer Alicia Keys, was there for a stunning performance

Joining the line-up of the performances was Manchester urban jazz singer IAMDDB

Recording artist Teyana Taylor, signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label, took centre stage on the closing night

Alongside her was GOOD Music President and rapper Pusha T, who bid the music line-up goodbye

Further highlighting the power of hip-hop was the international premiere screening of Word is Bond, a documentary about the transformative nature of hip-hop lyrics by award-winning director Sacha Jenkins

The screening followed the preview of a second hip-hop documentary, My Mic Sounds Nice: The Truth About Women In Hip-Hop by Ava DuVernay
