The art scene is Dubai has been seriously soaring lately! With murals dotted around town, whole neighbourhoods of galleries and popular classes, in general, people have become more involved. Lucky for us, some of the most talented people in town have been taking to Instagram, to show off their best work… 

Here are 12 artists who should be on your radar… 

1. Ella Orencillo 

A self-taught painter, Ella’s work focuses on femininity in her art and her favourite medium to use is airbrushing – which she started in 1999. Check out her website to see more of her work. 

2. Fathima Mohiuddin 

Founder of The Domino, Fathima has made her mark on the Dubai street art scene. She has worked on murals on walls from Dubai to Toronto.

3. Maisoon Al Saleh

A born and bred Emirati – the first Emirati artist to create artworks underwater. Her art uses various materials, from acrylics and fibreglass. 

 

4. Dina Tawil

Dina is an animator and illustrator, her sketches are simple yet beautiful, with very intricate details, which give her art life. Check out her amazing illustrations here.

5. Maryam Alzaabi 

As an architect and artist, she breathes creativity.  A lot of her work is inspired by pop culture and she has created insane portraits of some of our favourite icons. More of her work here.

6. Dina Sami 

A global citizen – raised between Dubai and New York, her art is inspired by her surroundings. She creates black and white illustrations that have made their way on to magazine covers and walls in Dubai. She also runs her own design company Seven Minutes.

7. Maryam A. Bin Thani 

An Emirati illustrator, Maryam gets her inspiration from the vegan lifestyle – most of her work involves colourful animals and nature made from gouache paints.

8. Ramy Elzaghawy

A street art and graffiti artist, Ramy uses a variety of mediums to create his masterpieces. 

 

 

9. Sara Japanwalla

A fashion illustrator – she has worked for Bloomingdales, Ralph Lauren and Missoni. Her work is colourful and feminine. Check out all of her illustrations here.

10. Wissam Shawkat
