To mark International Women's Day this week on March 8, two female pilots flew an iconic Emirates Airbus A380 from from Dubai to Vienna. Check the video out here:
Not only did the flight have two female pilots, one was First Officer Alia Al Muhairi from the UAE, the youngest Emirati female pilot operating the aircraft. The Captain was Nevin Darwish, from Egypt, who was the first woman of Arab origin to captain the Airbus A380.
According to Emirates, women make up close to 44% of their workforce, with over 29,000 female employees hailing from over 150 countries globally. The airline also revealed that 18,000 of their female employees work in cabin crew roles, and the further 11,000 work in technical, professional and leadership positions, with 2.5% of the female staff in managerial roles.
