- It sure looks like Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney are officially legally married!!!
- Jennifer and Cooke were spotted at the NYC marriage license bureau picking up some paperwork that looked like a marriage certificate.
Okay, so I know that Jennifer Lawrence’s fiancé, Cooke Maroney, may have come into our collective consciousness only a few months ago, but J. Law is just so head over heels for Cooke that it’s hard not to root for them. Which is great, because they might already be legally married!
Instead of the super-formal wedding ceremony complete with the white dress, floral decorations, and tears, our J. Law is opting for something muuuch more low-key—elopement! Well, kinda.
According to Page Six, Jennifer and Cooke were spotted at New York City’s marriage license bureau yesterday with paperwork...meaning it’s very likely they tied the knot in the eyes of the law. Further adding to the marriage rumors is the fact that they were spotted with a close friend and celebrity photographer, Mark Seliger. Mark actually did a very bridal portrait session with Jennifer last month! Having a friend along doesn’t sound that strange, TBH, but the photographer was likely there to take some pictures post-vows. The whole thing looks preeetty fishy!
Someone even tweeted about seeing Jennifer and Cooke at the marriage license bureau yesterday. “When you go get your marriage license and Jennifer Lawrence walks by to tie the knot before your eyes. Yeah, kids, City Hall is COOL. The place to go!” the person wrote in a since-deleted tweet. And while this could be a lie, there’s actual photo proof to back it up.
Jennifer and Cooke got engaged back in February and are allegedly set to throw a large wedding celebration next month.
She gushed about marrying Cooke back in June on the Naked With Catt Sadler podcast. “I just met Cooke, and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully and, you know, he’s my best friend,” she said. “I feel very honored to become a Maroney. I want to legally bind him to me forever and, fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing.” Jennifer added, “It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet, you’re like, ‘You can’t leave.’ So I wanted to take up on that offer.”
Awww, how cute is that! Whether the trip to the marriage license bureau was some sort of routine visit or they really did get married, I am super happy for these two. Congratulations, Cooke and Jennifer!
