Ellie Goulding married her beau Caspar Jopling in a lavish, traditional British wedding that was fit for the royals, at York Minster cathedral. The loved up couple were surrounded by friends, family, flower girls and adorable pageboys.
In case you haven’t been following their relationship, allow me to catch you up:
Caspar is a New York-based art-dealer. The pair met through a mutual friend (Princess Eugenie) in 2017 and Ellie moved to New York to be closer to her man. *how sweet* Following the wedding, the pair have relocated to London.
In an interview with Jonathan Ross, Ellie opened up about the spontaneous proposal. She explained: "I think he got a bit over-excited and proposed the week before he was planning to. We were having maybe a couple of drinks and we were doing a Jigsaw puzzle. He likes them. Anyway, I think he was getting bored of it and then he proposed. It was quite romantic for some reason."
On August 7, 2018, Caspar announced the engagement via Instagram and a formal announcement in The Times newspaper.

I get to spend the rest of my life with this truly extraordinary and beautiful, beautiful person. No one has ever made me feel more full of life, knowledge, happiness, or love. Hope, passion, confidence, and more love. There is no one I have ever been more complete with and there is no one I will ever feel more complete with. I look forward to a lifetime of exploring the world together, crying with laughter at stupid jokes, chatting into the early hours of the morning about art, music, the world, and the future. I love you Elena. And thank you to all of you that have sent such loving messages today
The couple tied the knot on August 31. The groom looked dashing in a Huntsman suit with light grey pants, a beige vest and a black ‘morning coat’. And he cutely 'twinned' with his groomies.
The bride arrived at 3:25pm in a blue Volkswagen camper van, decorated with flowers.
Ellie wore a modest, high-necked gown designed by Chloé. The veil that was designed by Natacha Ramsay-Levi and consisted of hand-embroidered White Roses of York and the initials ‘E’ and ‘C’ sewn into the collar. The look was paired with heels and jewellery from Bulgari. The gorgeous gown took 640 hours to make, while the veil took 591 hours. All that time, effort and money paid off! The bride looked beautiful.

The couple used the same events company that organised the wedding receptions of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and even Pippa Middleton and James Matthews.
There were A LOT of high profile guests in attendance. Princess Eugenie (match-maker), Princess Beatrice and Sarah, Duchess of York attended the wedding. Eugenie's husband Jack Brooksbank was one of Jopling's groomsmen. Other celebrities like Orlando Bloom and fiancée Katy Perry and Sienna Miller also made an appearance.
Congrats to the happy couple! We look forward to a preggers announcement soon.
