It's going to be the show of the summer, so if you haven't watched season one (seriously, where have you been) here's everything you need to know. need a

So… what is Big Little Lies

Big Little Lies aired as a seven-episode HBO miniseries in 2017, starring the likes of extremely talented stars such as Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley aka Tris from Divergent.

It wasn’t long before people became obsessed, and seriously - it’s totally worth the hype.

Based on the novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, Big Little Lies was met with overwhelmingly good reviews for its first season.

“The boldest thing about Big Little Lies, though, is the way it centers on women’s experiences as wives and mothers an depicts their internecine fights with each other as a distraction from a larger, ongoing conflict with men- some of whom truly love them,” writes Vulture contributor Matt Zoller Seitz.

Here’s the tea on Season 2:

So… unsurprisingly, Season 2 will pick up right where Season 1 leaves off, aka, with Perry’s death. Meryl Streep will play Perry’s grieving mother back for answers about her son’s death, to put it rather ominously.

According to the official trailer for season 2, Streep’s appearance spells some pretty major trouble for Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Perry’s wife.

Not only that, but there’s sure to be plenty more mom drama, cattiness and intrigue with Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Jane (Shailene Woodley), and Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz), who all seem like they’re struggling the “big little lie” (see what I did there?) about Perry’s death- the lie that definitely seems like it’s unraveling.

Well, looks like it’ll be a summer of drama, and I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely here for it!

Tune in: Big Little Lies Season 2 premieres June 9. Don’t miss it!
