Not a day goes by where we don't pine for the days where Friends dominated our TVs, when we'd sit down with our families to watch the latest episode and slowly feel the cockles of our hearts being warmed.
We've always counted ourselves as Friends superfans but it turns out that there's a pivotal (PIVOT!) part of the journey that we just had no idea had taken place. Until now...
Earlier today, Courteney Cox blessed us with the throwback of all throwbacks when she posted a behind-the-scenes photo of the beloved cast, captioning the post, "The one where the six of us went to Vegas and no one knew we were F.R.I.E.N.D.S yet #tbt #beforeitaired #lovetheseguys".
Now, just so we're all up to speed, this picture has a lovely story behind it. After the Friends pilot was filmed — but before it aired — the show's director, James Burrows, decided to take the cast on a little Vegas vacation so they could get to know each other better.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Burrow's revealed that he told the cast something pretty spooky during that trip.
"I had me and six of them [on the trip], and I said — I don’t know why I said this — I said, 'This is your last shot at anonymity.'"
So what we're actually seeing here is the last photo of Friends cast in their final days of anonymity, just before they were catapulted in stardom.
