Well, we weren't expecting this. Last week Kylie Jenner announced she will be launching her very own skin care line, called 'Kylie Skin', on May 22 - but in an unexpected turn of events, social media is dragging her for it.
Before all the tea, the 21-year-old billionaire is took to her socials to say:
"Skincare and makeup go hand in hand and Kylie Skin was something I dreamt up soon after Kylie Cosmetics,I’ve been working on this for what feels like a lifetime so I can’t believe I’m finally announcing!"
Ky stated that she has got the "best of the best" for us and the entire collection is; "cruelty free, vegan, gluten free, paraben and sulfate free and suitable for all skintypes." Okurrr Kylie we see you!
Kylie also mentioned how much effort and work went into this collection :
"So much love went into this. It all starts with skin."
The collection consists of 6 products;
Foaming Face Wash, Vanilla Milk Toner, Walnut Face Scrub, Face Moisturizer, Eye Cream, and Vitamin C Serum.
So, you would think the collection would be an instant success, right? Well, not exactly. There has been heavy backlash on social media as one of the main ingredients in the face scrub is walnuts - specifically, according to a Kylie tweet, "fine walnut powder", which are, realistically, a big no-no, as walnut shells - even in crushed or powdered form - can cause little micro-tears on the surface of your skin and mess with your skin barrier, especially if your face is sensitive or inflamed with acne.
Here are a few of the comments left on Kylie posts:
And if this wasn't enough, fans are slating the super-rich star for releasing a skincare line when they believe her pretty face has nothing to do with the word 'budget'...
