As you know, we’re drawing closer and closer to the final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones - and the epic finale promises to leave us in a very volatile position. Now, this means we’re always on the edge of our seats whenever we hear a slight mention of anything GOT-related, ever ready to devour any little bit of information or leak remotely regarding the Thrones.
So, you can imagine that brief euphoric moment where we saw that Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark just FYI, leaked a massive GOT spoiler on air while she was on The Jimmy Fallon Show. Or should we call her; Maisie, Queen of Practical Jokes and Breaker of Hearts.
The star seemingly confirmed Arya Stark’s death in the forthcoming final season after Jimmy asked her to reveal a small detail about the new episodes.
But it was all a lie, kids. The star played us and she played us good. Watch the clip here and prepare for your heart to stop beating for a second or two:
We have to give it to her, she was very convincing and so was Jimmy Fallon for that matter (the host 'reassured' Maisie they could cut the bit about the leak out of the show before she ran off stage, leaving the audience in silence).
Props to the pair for executing the prank with the utmost authenticity, this must not be their first rodeo.
We were sooo not prepared to lose Arya only in episode two, so we thank our lucky stars that it was a prank. Phew!
We should've known. Maisie knows better than to let a big spoiler like that slip, especially given that entire GOT cast had to sign NDAs, vowing to keep the ending a secret until all was revealed.
Wait a second. Unless, this is a double bluff and Arya really does die in the second episode? Either ways, we'll be watching GOT with a box of tissues ready in case we need to cry our hearts out (most probs).
