It’s right here in Dubai

Just when I thought Dubai couldn't possibly get any more glamorous, the city goes above and beyond to prove me wrong. This time it’s with perfume, and I'm not talking about your regular over-the-counter fragrance. That would simply be too ordinary and Dubai is far from that.

Allow me to introduce the world’s most expensive perfume, Shumukh, which in Arabic translates to ‘deserving the highest'. It's embellished with diamonds and features rare notes from across the globe. Here's everything you should know...

1. It’s a multiple Guinness World Record holder

'Most Diamonds set on a perfume bottle' and 'Tallest remote-controlled fragrance spray'. Now if that doesn't impress you, I don't know what will.

2. Its design features the seven elements of Dubai

To truly capture 'The Spirit of Dubai' the genius designer, Asghar Adam Ali, incorporated all seven elements to be represented in the scent. These are:

  1. Baz (Falconry)
  2. Durra (Pearl Diving)
  3. Abjar (Arabian horses)
  4. Narjesi (Roses)
  5. Haibah (Luxury)
  6. Diwan (Arabic Hospitality)
  7. Aamal (Dubai's status as the "city of the future").

3. The perfume costs a whopping Dhs4.752 million

Yep, that's a whole lot of cash. You can view this esteemed perfume display at The Dubai Mall in the Fashion Avenue until March 30, so hurry and head on down. If you wish to purchase this carefully-crafted scent however, you'll have to be patient as orders will take up to four to six months to be delivered.

4. It's a unisex perfume

The fragrance that took three years to manufacture suits both sexes and has notes of Sandalwood, musk, Turkish rose, Patchouli, Ylang-Ylang and pure Indian agarwood. The fragrance apparently lasts for 12 hours on the skin and due to all the ingredients being 100% natural and organic, the perfume has a unique scent on every person’s skin. How cool is that?

5. It's fitted with so much bling!

Have you ever owned a perfume that's been adorned with diamonds? Yeah, me, neither. This one's set with 3,571 shimmering diamonds (38.55 carats) and that's not all. There's also topaz, pearls, 18 karat gold and pure silver on the perfume's design. No big deal. They weren't kidding when they alluded to the perfume being the epitome of luxury.
