The ‘Bad Blood’ singer turns the big 3-0 this year, and she has selflessly decided to share 30 things she’s learned before reaching the milestone. As she put it : "It's 2019 and sharing is caring." Thanks, Tay! We’ve picked five of our favs:
1. Block some of the noise.
Taylor says, “Social media can be great, but it can also inundate your brain with images of what you aren’t, how you’re failing, or who is in a cooler local than you at any given moment.” Basically, Tay's saying to live IRL, not on-screen, and don't take other people's words too seriously. We got this.
2. Trying and failing and trying again and failing again is normal.
Although Tay’s situation is a tad different from ours, she’s still able to recognise that it’s very important to take risks, mess up and learn from them. The 10 time Grammy award winner adds: “It may not feel normal to me because all of my trials and failures are blown out of proportion and turned into a spectator sport by tabloid takedown culture”. Ladies, you do you and it’s alright to mess up time after time. How else are you supposed to learn?
3. Stop hating every ounce of fat on your body.
Self-love isn’t something that comes naturally to the majority of us, but it is something we must work on. Yes, we’ve all got insecurities, but we need to learn to embrace and love the flaws. It's what makes us who we are. It’s like Taylor says: “There is no quick fix. I work on accepting my body every day.”
"I think a lot of us push the boundaries of dieting, but taking it too far can be really dangerous"
4. Don't let outside opinions establish the value you place on your life choices.
It’s simple, really, don’t let others dictate how you live your life. Take Tay’s advice: "I have my own value system of what I actually want."
5. Fashion is all about playful experimentation.
