Making a social media error can be embarrassing at the best of times. Whether you’ve accidentally shared something you shouldn’t have or sent out a string of emotional drunken Tweets, we’ve all been there.
Soon your mates have hit the re-tweet button and before you know it your muting notifications and planning your escape route to Mexico. Well, maybe that’s a tad extreme but you get the idea.
Unfortunately, someone who knows exactly what we’re talking about is Cardi B, who made a pretty colossal Twitter blunder herself over the weekend when she decided to say this to her followers.
“It’s amazing how Donald Glover and Childish Gambino look soo much alike. I think they secretly the same person!!!”
If, before today, you were positive that Cardi B understood that Donald Glover and Childish Gambino are the same person, then you might want to take a seat... pic.twitter.com/TsxsqrSwcV

Then when everyone went on to point out that singer Childish Gambino IS in fact the musical alter ego of actor Donald Glover, the pregnant 25-year-old quickly deleted her previous message and followed it up with this tweet:
Wait I’m confuse now ?!

To be fair, it took us a while to realise that they were the same person as well - but luckily we didn’t have to find out in front of 3.17 million followers…
Naturally, the singer’s realisation sparked a huge reaction from plenty of other people who also had absolutely no idea. At least you're not totally alone then, Cardi!
everyone remembers where they were when michael jackson died, and everyone remembers where they were when they first found out that donald glover and childish gambino are the same person

Same. It'd never cross my mind that they were the same person bc I didnt know what Childish Gambino looked until "This is America"... and I didnt know Donald Glover sang https://t.co/nGJS8SLxMX

I’m at work minding my business & my coworker asks me if I know Donald Glover. I said yes & he proceeds to ask doesn’t he look like Childish Gambino. I thought he was kidding, but he really didn’t know they were the same person lmao

Atlanta actor Donald has previously opened up about his musical alias which has been causing all this online confusion. Speaking on Jimmy Fallon back in 2011, the 34-year-old admitted that the name Childish Gambino actually came from a Wu-Tang name generator.
“I really liked it,” he told Fallon. “It just felt like me—like a little scary but mostly cuddly.” Well, at least we’re all on the same page now.
