At a time when privilege, platform, and influence are held to account, people look to those with an audience for fulfilling their end of social responsibility and giving back to the communities that made them. Even though there will always be debate about whether what’s being done is enough or does justice to the cause, it remains important to acknowledge that these initiatives aid in raising both awareness and funds. Here’s a list of what some influencers have done:

Nour Arida

Through her skincare brand Sorbé, mega-influencer Nour Arida has installed showers and toilets for displaced women and girls across impacted areas in Lebanon. ANERA and the Lebanese Red Cross are also facilitating on-ground support for this initiative. This mom is no stranger to leading by example, having handed over her Instagram to NGOs previously.

Karen Wazen

Following her launch into superstardom, major it girl Karen Wazen chose not to abandon her community at a time of need. Karen Wazen Collection recently announced its partnership with @girlsofliban, an on-ground aid organisation providing shelter and basic necessities for displaced families in Lebanon.
