We’ve already seen plenty of fun on Too Hot To Handle season 5 – it’s now time for the cast to delve deeper, *emotionally*. After all, the show’s fundamental mission is for its couples to bond on a profound level, beyond a connection that’s merely skin deep. And in keeping with that mission, an emotional healing workshop was carried out – each contestant was given the opportunity to uncover a self-sabotaging red flag which currently stands in the way of their interpersonal happiness.
One after the other, the Too Hot To Handle contestants wrote down their emotional baggage on a blackboard, highlighting all their unresolved trauma. They literally *batted* their fears away in a mini (and super colourful) game of baseball, with the help of a supportive romantic or platonic partner.
“Today’s workshop is all about acknowledging how we can be our worst enemy when it comes to building relationships,” shares the workshop’s host. “We must recognise these self-sabotaging habits and free ourselves of them.”
So, what are the Too Hot To Handle cast members’ self-sabotaging red flags?
Alex’s red flag: Being indecisive
We now know that Alex was torn between Megan and Elys, deciding to pick the latter. We can’t help but wonder, is Alex 100% sure that Elys is the one for him?

Elys’ red flag: Chasing excitement
Elys confessed that just when things start to get stable, she bolts to the next thing. In a way, Elys doesn’t allow herself to be happy. Hunter was low-key *side-eyeing* her because that’s exactly what she did to him. But Elys said she’d love to slow down and soak up the happiness in the present moment.

Hannah’s red flag: Wrong choices
Hannah didn’t say much apart from “No more choosing wrong, only choosing right.” We hope Hannah finds the courage to trust her gut – she’s super decisive and is well aware of what she wants, so it shouldn’t be an issue for the blonde bombshell.
Dre’s red flag: Fear
‘Nough said. Dre is letting go of fear once and for all on Too Hot To Handle.
Louis’ red flag: Trust issues
Louis’ parents went through a tumultuous divorce when he was only 5 years old, so he says he struggles to trust people in relationships. In fact, even when the other party proves to Louis that they’re trustworthy, there’s always something holding Louis back from letting his guard down. “I cut my relationships off before they leave me or cheat on me,” shared the Too Hot To Handle player. So, will he learn to trust as the show progresses, or will Christine reinforce his trust issues?

Christine’s red flag: She likes the chase
Christine tends to gravitate towards men who are emotionally unavailable. Obsessed with the thrill of chasing a guy, she usually ends up picking the wrong one and getting hurt. So, will Christine end up chasing Trey instead of focusing on Louis?
Hunter’s red flag: Feeling like he’s not good enough
Hunter was turned down by Elys despite the fact that they were in the process of building something special from his point of view. He expressed that he’s eradicating those feelings of self-doubt for good. Good for Hunter!
Megan’s red flag: Bad judgment
Similarly, Alex turned Megan down for Elys even though Megan was falling in love with him. She expressed that she always goes for the same kind of guy, regardless of whether or not “that stereotype” is good for her. We know that Megan has been done dirty by several men in her past who chose other girls over her. Hopefully, Too Hot To Handle will put an end to this cycle.

Isaac’s red flag: Cockiness
Isaac shared that he was rather insecure in his youth, so he tends to overcompensate for his insecurities. Here’s hoping that he’ll transition from cocky to confident on Too Hot To Handle.
Court’s red flag: Falling too hard and too fast
The most emotional confession out of the bunch was Court’s. She shared that she was married and that her ex-husband cheated on her. It was “the worst pain” she’d ever felt. Court criticized herself for being overly trusting and naive, falling for men who only pretend to care for her.
We wish Court all the best. We feel confident that on Too Hot To Handle, she’ll find the strength and patience to tread carefully before choosing a life partner (because she’s worthy of happiness).
So, are the contestants’ fears and traumas placed in safe hands, or will their partners act recklessly with their hearts? Stay tuned for more Too Hot To Handle goodness on Netflix.
