If you’re looking for who won Netflix’s first Arab reality series then look no further: Syrian-born, Dubai-based Bushra Nasr has been crowned “The Fastest”. Might we add that the competition was her *first* drag racing experience? Yup, she’s a born star.

Scroll down to meet the winner of The Fastest Bushra Nasr and her journey to the top…

Cosmo ME: What were the struggles you faced as a woman in the field of racing?

Bushra Nasr: The lack of financial support and sponsors is a challenge that every race driver faces. Motorsport is not difficult but you should have passion and love for it. I also keep on developing myself with the help and support of my close friends.

As we witness strong female participation from the Middle East, The Fastest proves that nothing is difficult for women.

C: What’s the best part of being a racer?

B: The best part about being a racer is the speed and the focus that comes with it. In a way, it’s very calming.

C: What was the hardest part of the show and why?

B: Waiting to race in our cars in the 47°C weather with racing suits and no AC, was an experience on its own!

C: What was your favourite part of The Fastest series?

B: The surprise factor. Every day we had a different location with different people, races, and challenges.

C: Who’s your inspiration to keep going on in your career?

B: My family and myself. I am inspired by my strength and determination at every stage of my life.

C: How does it feel to be in Netflix’s first Arab reality TV show?

B: It feels awesome. It’s a great opportunity for me to share my story and experience in Netflix’s first Arabic reality show and also to showcase the car culture in the region, which will motivate more people to be part of it.

C: What are the misconceptions of being a racer?

B: If you’re good at one type of racing, it doesn’t mean that you’re good at all types of racing. Some race drivers don’t even know how to park!

C: How have things changed for you after winning the competition?

B: The fact that this sport becomes recognized in the region and can change the perception that women can also win. I hope I will be able to participate in international races and be a role model for younger girls.

C: How did it feel to be among the three women picked to be a part of The Fastest? How did your friends and family react to the news?

B: It felt good to be amongst great racers and I’m very proud of all the women entering the field and achieving what they are passionate about.

My family and friends were shocked and proud at the same time, especially since no one knew about it.

C: What advice would you give to aspiring female drag racers?

B: I’d tell everyone who is interested in racing to just go for it and be prepared for all the challenges that come with it.
