We have good news, and we have amazing news. Firstly, Bridgerton’s second season *won’t* be getting postponed, and apparently they’ll start filming once again in Spring 2021. AKA, they could already be filming! 

Secondly, it’s just been announced that the leading lady for season 2 will be played by the amazing Simone Ashley. 

As you may already know, Daphne and the Duke’s story will take a slight hiatus, as the second season of Bridgerton will be focusing on Anthony’s love life. This upcoming season will follow ‘The Viscount Who Loved Me,‘ the second book from the Bridgerton series. And maybe, just maybe, Anthony will finally get married.

According to Deadline, “Anthony is going to have a love interest next season, and I think it’s going to be as sweeping and moving and as beautiful as viewers of the first season have come to expect from the show.” 

This also includes some new additions to the cast, hence Simone being given a huge role in the series. 

The actress also confirmed this news as she reposted an IG story posted by Mindy Kaling saying ‘thrilled this talented, Tamil beauty is one of the new stars of Bridgerton Netflix.’ 

You may recognise Simone from the hit Netflix original ‘Sex Education.’

We can’t wait to see what her chemistry as Miss Kate Sharma will look like with Lord Bridgerton. Can we fast forward to when season 2 is being released already??
