Sheikha Asma Al Thani made headlines when she became the first Qatari female to stand over 8,800 meters above sea level and reach the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest.
Sheikha Asma and her teammates were presented with the Official Match Ball for the FIFA World Cup 2022, Al Rihla. This was presented to her as a gift, and inspiration, to continue on this hard long journey, which is what ‘Al Rihla’ translates to in Arabic.
You can see below, that not only did Sheikha Asma make it to the top of the highest peak in the world, but she also proudly took a pic with the Official Match Ball to commemorate the moment.
