Selena Gomez is baring all in her newly released documentary trailer and fans, as are we, couldn’t be prouder. The first glimpse into the actor-meets-singer’s upcoming film was shared on Instagram and walks us through aspects of Sel’s personal life amid her years-long health struggles with Lupus, anxiety and depression.

In the caption of her post, Selena shares that she coincided the release with World Mental Health Day today (October 10), writing: “Every breath, a breakthrough. In honour of #WorldMentalHealthDay I wanted to share the trailer for my documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me. November 4 on @AppleTVPlus”.

Within the first few seconds of the opening clips, Selena can be heard, saying: “Just be who you are, Selena. No one cares about what you’re doing, it’s about who I am – being okay with where I am. I am grateful to be alive”.

“Let me make a promise: I am going to stop living like this”, she continues. Alongside Selena, Alek Keshishian, who also created Madonna: Truth or Dare, directed the documentary.

In a tearful conversation, Selena continues to share her struggles, saying: “My whole life, since I was a kid I’ve been working. And I don’t want to be super famous. But I do know that if I’m here I have to use that for good”.

Amongst her many charitable contributions, in 2020, with the launch of her beauty brand Rare Beauty, Selena established the Rare Impact Fund. This is a project that supports organisations that expand access to mental health services in schools and educational settings and 1% of all of her cosmetics sales go towards the fund.

“I am happier and I’m in control of my emotions and thoughts more than I have ever been […] I know that this is the beginning for me”, she concludes.

Selena Gomez My Mind & Me will be available to stream on November 4, exclusively on Apple TV+.
