Salma did not become famous overnight, in fact, she was a model long before pursuing acting, so she’s relatively been in the public eye for a hot minute and now she’s opening up to Cosmo ME about the frustrating parts of being in the public eye.Â
“I get irritated when I hear people say “I wish I were you,” Salma says when Cosmo ME asked how she feels about people saying they wish they lived her life. The 26-year-old further explains that sometimes, people only want to live the glamourous aspect of being a celebrity and almost always ignore the pain, hard work and sweat it took to get where she is.
If you’re me, then you’re going to get the whole package – they should be ready to live the pain I lived before, the misery, everything I basically went through, ” she adds.
On her definition of success, Salma does not believe in a perfect definition. The actor says that every goal she achieves is a success and she continues to set new ones. “I don’t use the word successful freely, I’d rather say “achieve my dreams. Each year I have different dreams, so when I achieve them, then I have even more goals to pursue.”
“I didn’t imagine that I was going to be here five years ago, and I’m grateful for that,” she added.
