Other than Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez making our hearts melt this morning at the Academy Museum Gala, another sign that the world is healing is the ~fact~ that Rihanna is bringing us new music. I know, we can’t believe it either.
After her 2016 album Anti, Rihanna hasn’t released new music and instead has taken on the role of businesswoman (which she excels at too). But, her fans, AKA us and the whole world, have been waiting on hearing the songstress’ amazing vocals once again. Plus, there’s a long time before we can hear her sing again next February for her Super Bowl halftime show, so this lovely piece of news will keep us calm till then.

Rihanna confirmed the news on her IG of the opening single for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever titled ‘Life Me Up,’ which is set to release on October 28.
This isn’t the first time that Rih’s been associated with Marvel either. Back in 2020, there were talks that the megastar was going to be featured in the Black Panther movie itself. Imagine 😍.
Tems, who co-wrote ‘Life Me Up’, said in an interview: “After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honour.”

If you’re a Marvel fan *and* a Rihanna fan, then you’re probs jumping out of your seat right now, as is the whole internet.
