On Wednesday, 20th September Queen Rania of Jordan sat down for an interview with the Today Show in New York. The mother of four spoke about her children and how she has been feeling with two of them getting married and two of them graduating earlier this year.
Apart from that, Queen Rania also spoke about social media and its effects, more specifically negative effects on her as well as her children’s lives.
“I don’t think you can fight the trend because that’s where children are,” said Queen Rania. “That’s where the world is. Technology is all around us. You can’t fight itcompletely, but you need to regulate it.”
“I think it’s more about the values that you instil in your kids about themselves. Self-confidence, discipline, all those things are important and that will determine how they interact with their technology,” added Queen Rania.

What advice did Queen Rania of Jordan give to Princess Rajwa?
Her Majesty also revealed the advice she gave her daughter-in-law, Princess Rajwa Al Hussein before she got married to her son Crown Prince Hussein on the 1st of June 2023 at Zahran Palace in Jordan.
“One of the first things, just before my son announced his engagement, I took Rajwa to the side and the first thing I told her was there’s no such thing as a 100 percent approval rating. You’re always going to have people that are against you, and the advice that I want to try to give you is, ‘Please try not to read the comments.'”
Queen Rania also told the Princess that there would always be a lot of negativity.
“You know, you’re just going to have self-doubt, and there’s always going to be negativity — and it’s not about you, it’s from the person,” she continued. “They’re unhappy in their own lives. So don’t carry that unhappiness. It’ll shake your confidence.”
